Description (Households)

Use this Household setting to add a description for an asset or liability. Description must be unique within a Household.

The description appears on the Net Worth report, which can be client facing if you add it to a client view.

The following are some naming suggestions for different asset types.

• Financial account The description is generally the account name, such as Georgia 401k.

• Home The description may be the street address of the home or a description such as San Juan Vacation Home or Primary Home.

• Collection The description may be broad or descriptive—depending on the items involved, such as Michael Coin Collection.

• Vehicle You may consider adding the year, make, and model in the description, such as 2011 Porsche 911 GTR.
