Creating Connections
Tamarac's best practice is to create connections between clients and third party business relationships so you can see which attorneys, CPAs, and accountants you share mutual clients with. We also recommend creating connections for immediate family members so this information is shared across the firm.
If a Connection Role doesn't exists, work with your data manager to have the new Connection Role added. Click here to learn more about creating Connections.
Depending on the relationship you will want to build the connection from the account or contact. Below are our best practices for some of the most common connections:
Start on the Client's Account record and create a Connection to the Attorney's Contact record.
Start on the Client's Account record and create a Connection to the CPA's Contact record.
If the child is a minor or is not your client: Start on the parents' Account record and create a Connection to the Child's Contact.
If the child is your client, treat this as a relationship between two Clients (see below).
Start on Client A's Account record and create a Connection to Client B's Account record.
