What is Microsoft 365?

For information about Microsoft 365, see the Microsoft FAQ.

What is Exchange Online?

Exchange Online is Microsoft’s hosted messaging application that provides firms with access to the full-featured version of Exchange Server. It includes access to email, calendars, contacts and tasks for any device. It is an add-on service provided by Microsoft as part of Microsoft 365. With Exchange Online, you no longer have to have your Exchange email server on-site or hosted by an IT provider.

Why does Tamarac ask if my firm uses Microsoft 365 and Exchange Online?

When Tamarac sets up Tamarac CRM on Dynamics 365, we need to use what’s called a tenant in the Microsoft 365 cloud to create the CRM site. This means that if you don’t currently use Microsoft 365 for your office applications and email on Exchange Online, we need to create an Microsoft 365 tenant for your firm. We then only use the users from the tenant when establishing your Tamarac CRM site. Tamarac does not set up Exchange Online or any other part of Microsoft 365.

important

Before setting up Tamarac CRM on Dynamics 365, Tamarac will always ask you if you already have an Microsoft 365 tenant with Microsoft.

If we set up Tamarac CRM on Dynamics 365 in the wrong tenant because you did not let us know, your firm could be subject to additional charges to move CRM to the correct tenant.

Who sets up new users in Tamarac CRM?

When a new user is set up, a subscription license needs to be assigned. If one is not available because your contracted subscriptions are all taken, we will add on a subscription, which will be charged to you at your contracted firm rate. Please contact your Service Team if you need to add a subscription.
