Introduction

Depending on your permissions in CRM, you may or may not have access to reset your own password or a password for another User.

What the App Offers

• View information about records while working within Outlook

• Track Email Messages & Appointments using Outlook Web Access (OWA). Because the Outlook app works with cloud-based Dynamics 365 software, you can access and track email in Outlook and by using and linking any of your mobile devices

• Link Email Messages, Appointments to a Dynamics 365 record with a single click

• Open Dynamics 365 records directly to find or enter more information

• Add a Phone Call, Task or Appointment to Dynamics 365

• Create a new Dynamics 365 record for any entity

• Track Outlook Contacts

• Email Templates

• No need to install or download additional software on individual devices or local machines

What Do You Need to Do to Use the App?

1. Be sure all prerequisites and requirements are met.

2. Set up Server-Synchronization.

3. Install the Dynamics 365 App for Outlook.

4. Uninstall the Dynamics 365 Outlook client (only if you currently have it on your computer)

What can Server-Side Synchronization Do?

• Provides direct Microsoft Dynamics 365-to-email server synchronization

• Bi-directional sync of Email, Contacts, Tasks & Appointments

• Will synchronize using Outlook, Webmail, Tablet or Smartphone

• Sync Frequency:

• Dynamic & unique for each user

• Algorithm syncs based on email messages/activity within a mailbox

• Sync can occur from every 2 minutes for active mailboxes to every 12 minutes for less active mailboxes

• No manual sync available

• New Features:

• Email Folder Tracking:

• Drag email to a folder mapped to a Dynamics 365 record to track

• Works on any mobile devices that supports Microsoft Exchange

• Track up to 25 folders per user account

Deploying Dynamics 365 App for Outlook

After setting up server-side synchronization & setting the required privileges, the App can be pushed to users or users can do this on their own.
