Manage and Add Storage in Dynamics 365
This feature is only available in Dynamics 365.
If your firm exceeds your allotted storage limit, you may receive an email stating that you are not in compliance with Microsoft policies. At that point, you can do one of the following:
Below is how the storage works with additional links from Microsoft. The additional links will show you how to find storage and how to free up storage yourself if you want to save some space.
Type of Storage | What's Included | Storage Amount |
---|---|---|
Database | All entities that are not included in file storage or log files. |
|
File | Attachments, notes, and any custom or out-of-the box entity that has fields of datatype files or full-size images. |
|
Log | Audit logs, audit summaries, and trace files such as email tracking alerts/warnings. |
|
For more information on this storage mode, see Microsoft's documentation on storage.
If you want to free up space, there are ways to reduce the amount of storage space used by removing or deleting different types of information from Dynamics 365. Use one or more of these methods to control your total data storage usage with Dynamics 365.
If you have any questions or believe you need to increase your storage limit, please contact your CRM Support team at TamaracSupport@envestnet.com. Your firm will be subject to additional monthly storage fees.
Click here to learn more from Microsoft about how you can free up space in Dynamics 365. This article suggests several options, including deleting notes, attachments, import history, and other data.
However, before you delete data, be sure that the data is no longer needed because you cannot retrieve deleted data. Your data cannot be restored once it has been deleted. This means it may make more sense for you to increase the amount of storage space you have with your Dynamics 365 apps instead of reducing the amount of storage space used.
