Require Dual Factor Authentication (DFA)
This client setting, available on the Client Portal tab, allows you to designate whether a client must use dual factor authentication to log in or not. When you enable dual factor authentication for clients, the next time they log in to the client portal, they are asked to set up challenge questions and, if applicable, a mobile phone code for SMS authentication.
To allow a client to log in only using their password, choose No, use password only.
To require a client to log in using both a password and either challenge questions or a SMS code, choose Yes.
SMS authentication must be turned on separately from dual factor authentication. If you would like to take advantage of SMS authentication, please contact the Account Management team at TamaracAM@envestnet.com to activate this feature.
If a client forgets their challenge questions, select Reset DFA Settings to reset their challenge questions.
To see these settings, your firm must have dual factor authentication enabled in System Settings.
