Who Can Create Excel Templates |
As a financial planning firm, efficiently tracking and organizing client data is essential for operational success. However, building a truly successful practice often involves taking it a step further - leveraging that data for analysis to strengthen and optimize client relationships.
You can extract, analyze, and present your Dynamics 365 data in Microsoft Excel using customizable Excel Templates. All Tamarac CRM users can generate Excel Templates, but only System Administrators can create custom Excel Templates for their firm to use.
Excel templates can help support a variety of strategic business tasks, including but not limited to:
Sales forecasting
Pipeline management
Lead scoring
Territory planning
To create Excel Templates in CRM, you must be a System Administrator who has access to the Advanced Settings page.

To create an Excel Template:
In Tamarac CRM, select Settings and then choose Advanced Settings.
Under Business settings, select Templates and on the Templates page, select Document templates.
To create an Excel Template, select New.

Users in your organization can see the templates available to them by selecting Excel Templates on the command bar in the list of records. When you generate an Excel Template from a record page, it will pull only data from the respective record.
To download an Excel Template:
From the record page in Tamarac CRM, select the menu.
Select Excel Templates.
Under Personal Excel Templates, select your custom template title.
Based on your viewing preferences, select Open in Excel Online or Download.
