How Filter By Works

This setting allows you to filter the assets displayed by category. You might do this if you want to evaluate only a certain category of assets—for example, if you want to look at only equities held in a group.
When you filter by category, only assets meeting the filter criteria are displayed.
Filter by and Group by categories cannot be the same. For example, if you set Group by to Asset Class, and then you also set Filter by to Asset Class, Group by will be reset to Account.
In Dynamic Reports
-
To show all assets without filtering by category, set Filter by to <None>.
In this example, the report is not filtered and all assets in the account or group selected are displayed.
-
To filter assets shown in the report by category, choose a category type from the list. A new list will appear where you can select the filter. You can only filter by one category at a time.
For example, with Filter by set to show only securities with an Asset Class of US Equities, the assets are filtered to show only securities that are US equities.
