Only Show Returns for Assets Held at the End of the Period
Use this report setting to show or hide assets based on whether or not they were held at the end of the report date period. This setting applies to the table, line chart, and bar chart on the Account Performance report.
Selected. Only see assets held at the end of the period. Select this check box when you want to keep a report focused on only the current holdings. For example, the report date period is Year to Date. Today is October 24. An account sold out of a the Fixed Income position on July 16. That position is hidden. Note that the return calculation still includes the hidden position.
Cleared. See all assets held at any point in the period, even if they were not held at the end. Clear this check box when you want to include context for return values. For example, if a group had an account that closed during the report period, it would be important to include the closed account to explain performance returns.
For example, the report date period is Year to Date. Today is October 24. An account sold out of a Fixed Income position on July 16. That position is still displayed on the report and marked as having a partial period.
Remember that returns are calculated for the account as a whole when reporting at the account level. This setting simply allows you to toggle whether or not you see positions held at the end of the period, but it does not change the calculation in any way.
This option is only available if your firm uses linked returns and the enhanced performance calculation. You will not see this setting if your firm does not use linked returns.
On the Account Performance report, this setting only applies when you choose to show returns.
