Round Lot Size Setting
This setting allows you to set an incremental number of shares for trades in this account. The number you enter in Equities (Shares) will indicate a round lot size of individual shares and the number you enter in Mutual Funds will be the round lot size in dollars.
For example, your Equities (shares) round lot size is 5. Tamarac Trading will recommend equities trades for this account in multiples of 5 shares: 5, 10, 15, etc.
Similarly, if your Mutual Funds round lot size is 10, Tamarac Trading will recommend mutual funds trades for this account in $10 increments: $10, $20, $30, etc.
In general, the higher the round lot size, the higher the deviation from the model. It is recommended that smaller accounts have a round lot size of 1. A large round lot can prevent positions from rebalancing back to target.
When configuring rounding, be aware that:
Tamarac Trading rounds down when suggesting trades.
The Round Lot Size setting is ignored during a Tax Loss Harvesting rebalance and the Tax Loss Harvesting and Rebalance.
Custom round lot settings at the security level will override these account-level Round Lot Size settings, but only for those securities that have Custom round lot settings.
