How Only Show Returns for Managed Assets Works

Applies to:
✔ Dynamic ✔ PDF

✔ Client Portal

Clients are drawn to total return in reports. Yet when you include unmanaged returns, the total return is impacted by such factors as legacy positions that you don't control. You may want the total return to reflect only your management performance without excluding unmanaged assets entirely. This setting allows you to include values for unmanaged assets while excluding unmanaged returns from the total return calculations.

This setting is only applicable when Unmanaged Asset Treatment is set to Segregate from managed.

If you set Unmanaged Asset Treatment to Treat as managed, unmanaged assets will be aggregated into managed assets. As a result, the Only show returns for unmanaged assets check box will not apply.

In Dynamic Reports

In PDF Reports

Functionality is the same in the PDF report templates as in dynamic reports.

With Only show returns for managed assets selected, the report displays returns for managed assets. A blank space is left where the unmanaged asset returns would be displayed. Total return values are adjusted accordingly.

With Only show returns for managed assets cleared, the report displays returns for all assets, both managed and unmanaged. Total return values include both managed and unmanaged returns.
