Recent Sells and Recent Buys Setting

This area allows you to view recent trades made in the account, as well as add trades made in the account within the last 30 days for the purposes of avoiding violation of the wash sale rule.

Tamarac Trading will block the purchase or sale of a security that violates the wash sale rule, assuming the Allow Violation of Wash Sale Rule account setting is set to No.

This is not a comprehensive list of all transactions in the account, though you can manually add sell transactions. The trades shown include recently logged trades from the Orders page, as well as additional orders from Tamarac Reporting, if any.

The Recent Sells tab shows securities sold at a loss within the last 31 days, while the Recent Buys tab shows securities purchased in the last 31 days in a taxable account that holds at least one other lot of that security at a loss. This 31 day period is considered today plus the last 30 days. You will see recent trades on these tabs if at least one account in the same Wash Sale Group ID is a taxable account.

You cannot make additions or deletions to trades that appear in Recent Buys, though you can manually add recently sold securities to this list.
