How Use Security Group Categories Works

Applies to:
✔ Dynamic ✔ PDF ✔ Client Portal

This setting allows you to view security categories at the group level that are based on the category types you've set up.

You might use this option if you have a client who gets stock options as part of their compensation package. You don't determine the acquisition of those shares, so you won't want to include those when reporting on your management. You can group all the client's options together into an "Options" category, and then filter those in or out. This category can be used even if the client has options from companies in disparate sectors.

In Dynamic Reports

Use Security Group Categories cleared

Securities that were classified as "Options" in their own security group are categorized in the report according to the holding account's classification.

Use Security Group Categories selected

Securities that were classified as "Options" in their own security group are categorized in the report according to their own classification.

In PDF Reports

Functionality is the same in the PDF report templates as in dynamic reports.
