Introduction

You have granular control over the way performance is reported within groups for performance reports. For example, if you have outside accounts or separately managed accounts in your group, you can prevent performance numbers for these accounts from displaying on your performance reports. When you edit a group, you can specify which of the accounts to include in each group's performance. Once you exclude an account, your reports won't display performance returns such as IRR and TWR for that account in a group. However, value ($) will still be reported.

In the report below, the ERISA account has been excluded from group performance, so there is data only in the value columns for that account, and other columns show -. The group totals for the value columns include this account, but the performance column totals do not.

Recognize Excluded Accounts on Reports

Accounts that are excluded from performance are marked with a caret symbol (^) on reports that show accounts as rows and have value columns.

Enable Exclude from Performance

To exclude accounts from performance in groups, this feature must be enabled for your firm. To enable this feature, please contact your Tamarac Service Team. This feature is only available if your firm maintains accounts and groups in Tamarac Reporting.

Exclude Securities from Performance

Tamarac recommends excluding accounts by excluding all securities within an account, rather than using the Include in Performance check box. For more information, see Exclude From Performance/Exclude ALL Securities From Performance.

For more information about marking securities as unmanaged and how reports display unmanaged assets, see:

What Happens When You Exclude an Account from Performance

Performance is not calculated during a sync for any group that has accounts excluded from performance.

If you're reporting on a group that contains a subgroup with excluded accounts, the accounts will be excluded from the subgroup's performance reporting when you run reports on the subgroup directly. If you want to exclude the account from performance for both the top-level group and the subgroup, you can add the account as a direct member of the top-level group.

The option to include or exclude accounts from performance only affects accounts that are reported within a group, so if you're reporting only on a single account, performance will not be affected.

If your report has been set to show only performance columns, the report will not be run since excluded accounts would not show in your reports at all—this includes any of your Account Performance, Comparative Review, or Account Ledger reports, which are the only reports that show accounts as rows.
