October 2021 - What's New in Tamarac Trading
The new Rebalance and Rebalance Summary pages are only available as beta test pages right now. By releasing beta pages, we can take advantage of more frequent releases to get more features out to you faster. Final features may change from these descriptions. Track updates here: Tamarac Trading Beta Pages - Summary Release Notes.
As we continue to expand the features on the beta version of the Rebalance Summary, we added these two widgets to the top of the report:
Account Information.See general information about the rebalance, including the account name and number, the workflow state, the model assigned to that account, and more. You can also find basic details about the account—for example, which underlying account in a group are you looking at—on the Account Information widget.
Cash Information.See cash details related to the account and the rebalance such as cash available for trading, cash reserve amounts, T+1 cash, and more. If you generate a custom strategy, the Cash Information widget will update to reflect the changes you made.
These new widgets are currently available on the beta version of the Rebalance Summary. For more information, see Reading the Rebalance Summary.
To put information where you look for it and save you from excessive scrolling, we moved the total or summary rows in the Rebalance Summary report to the top of each grouping.
When you combine this change with other filters, you can drill down into a granular view or collapse information to see a high-level view of the report, letting you review the details relevant to you.
This change is currently available on the beta version of the Rebalance Summary report.
Placing trades on hold can be a critical part of your review and trading workflow. To help improve efficiency and streamline your trading workflows, you can now place trades on hold on the Rebalance Summary and Rebalance pages. You can place holds on individual trades or on all trades in an account or group.
Here's where you can place trades on hold:
Rebalance page Actions list.Select accounts and use Hold Trades in the Actions list.
Account-Level More Actions List.Use the ... menu to select Hold Trades for underlying accounts within a group.
Rebalance Summary.Use the ... menu to select Hold Trades.
On the new Rebalance Summary, we changed how custom strategies affect other accounts within a rebalancing group. With this change, if you generate a custom strategy in an underlying account within a rebalancing group, all other trades in other accounts within that group are preserved. This helps eliminate confusion when reviewing these trades.
This behavior is currently available in the beta version of the Rebalance Summary.
Having both an initial and post-rebalance version of the same column can take up space in your views and require scrolling left and right to find the information you're looking for. In this release, we simplified these columns and combined initial and post-rebalance values into single column.
Now, one column shows a value that corresponds to where the account is in the trading workflow. If an account has not been rebalanced, the column will show the initial value. If the account has been rebalanced, the column will show the post-rebalance value. This means less scrolling with more information at your fingertips.
These are the affected columns:
Former Initial Value Column | Former Post-Rebalance Value Column | New Combined Column |
---|---|---|
Initial Model Deviation | Post Rebalance Model Deviation | Model Deviation |
Initial Cash ($) | Post Rebalance Cash ($) | Cash ($) |
Initial Cash (%) | Post Rebalance Cash (%) | Cash (%) |
Initial YTD LT Realized Gain | Post Rebalance YTD LT Realized Gain | YTD LT Realized Gain |
Initial YTD ST Realized Gain | Post Rebalance YTD ST Realized Gain | YTD ST Realized Gain |
Initial Tax Budget Used | Post Rebalance Tax Budget Used | Tax Budget Used |
Initial YTD Capital Gains Taxes | Post Rebalance YTD Capital Gains Taxes | YTD Capital Gains Taxes |
As we continue to add expand the Rebalance page functionality, we added the following columns:
Each of these columns is currently available when you create or edit views on the Rebalance page.
For more information on the Views feature, see Rebalance Page Actions, Views, and Filters.
With this update, those of you who use the FIX Flyer OMS trading integration, you can now use a new default trade option that will help you send trades to FIX Flyer in fewer clicks.
The Send trades to FIX Flyer Co-Pilot OMS for execution option will now be available in the Default Trade Actions of Rebalancing System Settings.
When selected, this option will enable the Send trades to FIX Flyer Co-Pilot OMS for execution option by default on the Trade Actions list when you generate trades.
If your firm already uses the FIX Flyer integration for OMS trading, this option will be available on the Rebalance System Settings page but won’t be enabled.
For more information on this integration, see FIX Flyer Integration.

In Tamarac Trading, we're continuing to improve the performance of our beta versions of the Rebalance page and Rebalance Summary. Early indications show that the new Rebalance Summary is at least twice as fast as the current Rebalance Summary, which is especially helpful for viewing accounts with a large number of trades or holdings. | Tamarac Trading |
