When updating a fee schedule, adding tiers allows you to accommodate for different fees at different transaction amounts. Add Tier allows you to add additional tiers to the fee schedule.

Your custodian charges a $5 flat fee for transactions up to $5,000 and a $3 fee for transactions over $5,000.

When setting up that fee schedule, you click Add Tier and Dollar Range End appears. This allows you to enter the upper amount of the tier—in this case, $5,000—as well as the $3 fee for transactions over $5,000.
