The Performance History report allows you to calculate returns based on the year end designated in the account or group settings. This setting allows you to designate what year-end date is used for those calculations in the event that an account has a different fiscal year end from the rest of the group.
You can base the date periods on the following options:
Account Setting:Displays values based on the configuration of the account and group Use fiscal year end for the Performance History report check boxes.
Calendar Year:Displays values for the calendar year regardless of fiscal year end settings.
Fiscal Year:Displays values based on the account's fiscal year settings regardless of the group's fiscal year end configuration.
For more information on the account and group reporting settings panel and managing Fiscal Year End settings at the account or group level, see the following pages:
An advisor manages a group for a client in which one account is an SMA managed externally. As a result, the accounts in the group managed by the advisor have one fiscal year-end, while that one account has a different fiscal year-end.
When the firm runs a Performance History report for this group, they encounter the following situation:
Date period:January 1, 2007 to December 31, 2007
Group Fiscal Year End:December
Account Fiscal Year End:July
The configuration of the Use fiscal year end for the Performance History report check box at the account and group level determines what dates the report displays for the account. The following table shows what year-end dates the advisor will see for the account in each possible configuration scenario.

To defer to account-level and group-level fiscal year end configuration settings, choose Account Setting. For more information about possible configuration scenarios, see Example: Calendar Year vs. Fiscal Year above.
For example, the account has a fiscal year end of July and the group has a fiscal year end of December. The Use fiscal year end for the Performance History report check box is cleared at the account level but it is selected at the group level. This causes the group's fiscal year end setting to overwrite the account's fiscal year end setting.
To base date periods on the calendar year regardless of fiscal year end settings, choose Calendar Year.
For example, the account has a fiscal year end of July and the group has a fiscal year end of December. However, the year end settings for the report are based solely on the calendar year-end, regardless of account or group settings.
To base date periods on the account or group fiscal year ends exclusively, choose Fiscal Year.
For example, the account has a fiscal year end of July and the group has a fiscal year end of December. The Fiscal Year setting causes the report to display values based on the group's fiscal year end when reporting at the group level and the account's fiscal year end when reporting at the account level.
